At long last, Motorola has started rolling out the long-awaited Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the less powerful variant of its soon-to-be former flagship smartphone, the Moto Z Play.
In addition to all of the features included in the latest build of the Android operating system, the upgrade transports compatibility for Moto Mods, and a slew of bug fixes and stability improvements.
Don’t expect to power on your Moto Z Play and install the firmware today, though. To cope with the sheer amount of devices it has to reach, Motorola’s distributing the OTA in stages.
Fortunately, there’s a quick and easy way to see if it’s ready for your device. Just open up Settings, tap About Device, followed by Software Update, then press Check for Updates.
